Kyocera Precision Tools' Coated Carbide Optimizes Turning

Kyocera Precision Tools has announced its new CA115P/CA125P next-gen chemical vapor deposition (CVD) coated carbide for steel machining. This new offering combines an innovative coating, carbide substrate Tungsten Carbide Inserts and chipbreakers to deliver exceptional performance, wear and fracture resistance.

Kyocera has designed the CA115P/CA125 series to provide extended tool life and superior performance in a variety of machining scenarios. The CA115P is ideal for continuous to light-interrupted machining, offering highly efficient and precise results. Conversely, the CA125P is optimized for continuous to heavy interrupted machining, making it a versatile general-purpose tool for steel machining.

The newly developed proprietary coating and carbide substrate of the CA115P/CA125P series offers optimized wear and fracture resistance. The coating properties on the rake and flank faces are optimized to provide excellent wear resistance. The black rake face is composed of a uniform alumina layer reducing wear, suppressing cratering and diminishing fracturing. The WNMG Insert striking gold flank includes a hard surface layer, a highly uniform alumina layer and a unique TiCN layer. All these layers on the flank work together to improve the wear-resistant properties of the insert and to suppress surface abrasion. Below the coating, the new carbide substrate displays enhanced resistance to plastic deformation and exhibits increased temperature resistance.

According to Kyocera, a key advantage of the CA115P/CA125P series is its expansive lineup of chipbreaker options covering everything from finishing to roughing, ensuring optimal performance and productivity across numerous applications.

How 2018 Has Given a Big Hope For Electric Vehicle Manufacturers in India

The Indian automobile industry is a big market both for national and international brands, India is undoubtedly a huge market for many international players like Hyundai, Honda, Volkswagen, BMW, Suzuki and many other big players, considering the huge population and increasing income levels of Indians, international brands are introducing at least 10 to 15 new car models into the Indian market every year. Although these brands have huge markets share in electric vehicles segment across America, China, and many other European countries, due to various reasons they failed in establishing a strong EV market in India.

It's a known fact that Indian electric vehicle users had a very bad experience in the past rod peeling inserts with almost all electric vehicles not living up to the expectations, battery backup, pull, mileage was under delivered than what is actually promised, also the government policies and subsidies were not so encouraging till 2017 for the EV manufacturers, these two reasons primarily pulled India into almost last seat in the list of electric vehicles using nations. National Automotive Board (NAB) took this as a challenge and introduced huge subsidies under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) scheme. This scheme is currently providing huge subsidies on Electric two, three and four wheelers. The official website of FAME currently shows, as on 16th August 2018 total number of EV's sold under this scheme are 223823, claims addressed are 223675 and the total subsidy given so far is Rs 263,883,540Shoulder Milling Inserts 0 and going strong with a target of bringing 7 million EV's on road by 2020.

The government has realized the threat to nature due to the hazardous emission released by millions of vehicles in the country and allocated 795 crores budget this year to promote and subsidize electric vehicles. Technology advancements and huge subsidies are attracting a great number of new users to adapt to electric vehicles, Tesla also played a huge role in creating a great amount of awareness globally which helped EV industry to skyrocket its sales like never before. With this inspiration, Nissan, Mahindra, Tata, Adapt Motors and many other national and international brands have launched their flagship EV models in 2018 and are being loved by the users. Also, the Delhi air pollution incident has created great awareness within the country, the nature lovers and media has taken the noble initiative of spreading awareness on adverse effects and damage happening to human beings due to air pollution.

The good sign is that with this positive buzz, not only in the car segment many other commercial segments like three wheeler auto rickshaws, cargo autos, two wheelers and e-bike manufactures has come forward and established a well-equipped manufacturing unit to deliver electric vehicles that fit for native roads and commercial utilization. The government has taken this Initiative of listing all these manufactures in the FAME website and ensured the subsidiary is available for almost all the vechicles. Not just the Central government, the state governments of Gujarat, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has put a step forward and encouraged the "Make In India" manufactures by giving them huge orders. Telangana Government has recently framed stringent acts to utilize only electric vehicles around 1-kilometre radius of Charminar to protect the historical monument from pollution and also ordered 300+ e rickshaws from Adapt Motors a Hyderabad based Electric rickshaw manufactures who are currently leading Eclectic Auto Manufacturers in Telangana. Hope this movement to adapt to electric vehicles further goes strong in the right direction which will bring a great climatic change in the country and result in quality and healthy breathable air.

Characteristics of Ball Pens

Known as both biro and ball pen, in a ball pen the ink is dispensed over a metal ball which is there at its point over the ball pens. The metal mostly used in the tip is steel, brass or tungsten carbide. It has substituted dip pens and fountain pens for being more clean and reliable than the other ones. Ball pens are the most used instrument for writing in the whole world. As a result, besides being used for writing, it has also inspired art and graphic design.

To capture the high-end market, designer and stylish ball pens are being produced. One of the most well-known type of ball point pen is of disposable type which is known as Bic Cristal.

  • Settings:-Both the models are available for ballpoint pens- disposable and refillable. In refillable pens, whole of the internal ink reservoir which includes ballpoint and socket can be replaced. These characteristics are mostly seen in designer pens and are made of more fine materials. The usual and simple type of ball point pens are disposable which come with a cap. When the pen is not being used, cover the tip with the cap so that the ink does not get dried.
  • Rollerball pens:-The mechanism of a rollerball pen is as same as other ball point pens only here the ink is oil-based instead of water-based. Because of this, the flow of the ink is more swift and fluid and also the ink has a tendency to blot. Also the ink being water based takes a longer time to dry so that it has a risk to get smudged or smeared when applied on the surface.
  • More varieties in Ball-Point Pens:-
  • To coat the ball with ink, a ball point relies upon gravity only, you cannot write upside down with ballpoint pen. But to solve this problem, Fisher Space Pen has been introduced. Here the ink used is more viscouse ink and ink reservoir is pressurized from where the ink gets forced to go towards the point. To get rid of the problem of leakage or evaporation, the pressurized reservoir's rear Cemented Carbide Inserts end is usually sealed in the space pen. This feature, unusual in other ball point pens make it easy to use in zero-gravity environments, upside-down and even underwater.
  • Many ballpoint pens are filled with erasable ink. The formula of the erasable ink consist properties like rubber cement which allows the ink to be rubbed and cleaned from the writing surface literally. The ballpoint pens with erasable ink need pressurized cartridges to keep the flow of the ink going and this ink is thicker than the ink used in usual ballpoint pens.
  • Bic crystal is the most inexpensive ball point pen which is also disposable. This is the most popular pen in the world. This is featured in the permanent collection of Museum of Modern Art in New York to acknowledge the industrial design. The design is very much similar to that of a CNC Inserts wooden pencil and this kind of pen is transparent due to that, you can see the level of the ink.
  • Some ball point pens feature refills of various colours. These are named as multipens.
  • Ball pens in India are widely used and sometimes given for free in meetings or businesses. Sometimes to promote a certain brand or company, the name is imprinted on ballpoint pen as well.
